Who I am professionally
I am a business builder in the fluid power industry.
What has shaped my career is not just sales ability. It is how I approach difficult subject matter. I enjoy taking complex hydraulic systems and breaking them down until they make sense. Once they make sense to me, I can usually explain them in a way that makes sense to others.
That did not come naturally.
In school, I struggled. Especially with math and algebra. I remember a teacher once telling me that one day I would make a good teacher because I understood what it felt like to struggle with hard material. She said that perspective would matter.
She was right.
Years later, when I rediscovered algebra through hydraulic formulas, something clicked. I began studying hydraulic systems seriously. I enjoyed isolating variables, understanding how pressure, flow, and displacement connect, and seeing how the core formulas actually describe what is happening inside a system. I moved beyond just knowing what components are called and started learning how they work together.
That curiosity turned into a real passion for hydraulics.
I study consistently. I read manufacturer manuals and textbooks. I use Lunchbox Sessions regularly. I am currently self-studying toward my Hydraulic Specialist certification. I do it because I enjoy understanding systems deeply.
That mindset has shaped my work.
When I see recurring problems in the field, I build tools to solve them. I created eFitting to reduce coupling misidentification. I developed a hydraulic planogram system to help distributors structure inventory correctly. I built training programs like “Get Confident” because I saw that many sales teams lacked simple, practical explanations of hydraulic fundamentals.
I enjoy presenting to large groups and simplifying technical material without watering it down. I enjoy helping less technical teams gain confidence in what they are selling.
My belief is simple:
If people truly understand a product and its application, they will sell it better.
That is how I build revenue. By building understanding first.
I want to continue growing in the hydraulics industry, applying both my commercial experience and my technical passion across product lines and organizations that value long-term capability.
Who I am personally
I grew up in rural Texas and worked my way through college, earning a degree in Agribusiness Management from Tarleton State University. That background shaped both my work ethic and my interest in mechanical systems.
Outside of work, I enjoy restoring and rebuilding diesel and small-engine equipment, particularly older agricultural machinery. I’m drawn to mechanical systems that require hands-on problem solving and practical understanding.
I also manage a small backyard apiary and enjoy teaching my sons about land stewardship and equipment maintenance. My family and I spend time exploring national parks and backpacking whenever possible.
I value craftsmanship, mechanical understanding, and continuous learning; both professionally and personally.
I’m always open to new connections, technical conversations, and collaborative opportunities.
